Elder Rowing

Joan was ninety years of age when this video was made.  She was in good health and able to walk with the help of a walker.  She needed some help boarding and exiting the boat, but once under way... well, we'll let the video speak for itself.

This was her first time rowing.  She was out for about 30 minutes and went a distance of about 1-1/2 miles.  Joan is now ninety-eight.  We've had her out a few times since then, mostly as a doubles partner.

Not everyone in their nineties will be able to do this well, but this video shows how easy it is.  We hope it will inspire some sixty and seventy years olds who may have found traditional rear-facing sculling to be too difficult.
